50% of the profits of Ciao Bella! will be added up to the Stage Committee Charity Fund, which will substantially benefit a project selected by all Stagiaires at the end of the Summer Stage 2008.
The other half of our profits will go to a development project carried out by Father Antonio Caccaro from PIME (www.pimemilano.com) in Cambodia.
The project is no. K 215, and aims at the construction of a public primary school in the village of Mien Cei, Prey Veng province, Cambodia.
This project aims to build a one-building school with 5 classrooms. Each classroom is to measure 8mt x 7mt, and will face one long hallway, 2 mts wide.
Altogether, the building will be 40mt long and 9 mt wide.
Services and toilets are included, in proportion to the number of students – that is, approximately 500.
It is estimated that between 5 to 6 months will be necessary to build the school, with a total cost of € 22.185.
This project is a contribution to the problem of lack of educational premises. Currently there are 750 children in the Prey Veng province, and only 7 classrooms for all of them. A system of 3 daily shifts is in place, but it is not ideal for an effective education. Also, one of the two existing buildings is severely rundown, and in no condition of safety. The new school would allow the re-distribution of the children from 3 to 2 daily shifts.

Why we chose this project
We have friends reassuring us of the reliability of the people working in this project. Therefore we trust that our money will be well spent. We did not aim at promoting a belief, or an ideology. We chose this project because the school will not belong to the Catholic Church, and will not provide faith education. The school will be built for the government, which will run and administer it as a public institution for all children, disregarding their confession.
